Recipe of the Month
September 2008 Western Beans Ingredients: 8 slices bacon 2 large onions, sliced 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp dry mustard ˝ tsp garlic powder 1 tsp salt ˝ c cider vinegar 1 can lima beans (not big can) 1 can butter beans 1 can kidney beans (may use two) 1 large (1 lb 11 oz) can pork and beans Directions: Drain all beans, except pork and beans; panfry bacon. Sauté onion rings in grease; add spices and vinegar. Cook 20 minutes. Put beans in casserole, add juices. Put bacon on top.
